This is a page dedicated to one vehicle - RML2317.
When it left service in London, it was owned by Metrobus for a number of years and
used on private hire, on commercial service 291 and at running days and rallies. Then in February 2009, this bus moved to Brighton
& Hove, a sister company within the Go-Ahead group.
These photos are from a ride on the 291 in September 2004 from Crawley in West
Sussex to Tunbridge Wells in Kent, plus a number of attendances at the ever popular East Grinstead running days.
There are also a couple
of guest photos of the bus newly repainted in the Tilling livery.
NEW: photos from the Routemaster Tour to Tunbridge Wells on 25th
July 09.

Our first picture is at Crawley bus station in September 2004, waiting to take up the 10.50 journey to Tunbridge Wells.
A side and rear view of the bus.
It really has been kept in tiptop condition by Metrobus and has been a credit to them.
And here is the offside. What a fantastic paint job. It must have been specially cleaned for the day!
In April 2005, the bus was attending the East Grinstead running day, and is seen in King Street.
In 2008, she attended the Worthing seafront rally, on what turned out to be a really hot and sunny day.
Seen on the last full day of operation on the 159, at Streatham at 10am, she is fully blinded and in service.
Seen and photographed by Gordon Dinnage on its inaugural run on 7th May 2009 at the Old Steine in Brighton, in the 1935 Thomas Tilling
livery.
See Gordon's web page at www.transportpostcards.co.uk
Also courtesy of Gordon from the same day is this shot of the ribbon being cut before the first journey. This bus is doing a number of tours this summer (2009) - see the official Brighton & Hove web site - www.buses.co.uk/
Today (25th July 09), I travelled on this bus on the Brighton & Hove tour from Brighton to Tunbridge Wells and back. It was a superb day, the driving was fantastic and the bus ran like a dream. It was well worth the £10!. The first photo is at Brighton Queens Road, fully blinded and waiting to go.
We had a stop at Lewes and also at Isfield for the Lavender Line. I noticed that the grille contains the very discrete fleet Brighton & Hove number 6317.
We had travelled up as a 29, and at Tunbridge Wells, the blinds were changed to a 29A for the way back, to take in the Whitehill area of Crowborough.
To finish, a rear view, showing the blinds and the livery. It really is a fantastic paint job.
We stopped 3 times on the way back,
and arrived about 30 minutes later than planned, but no-one complained. Now you don't normally get that on a normal journey!!
